description Built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps, this 1,067-acre park is located on the South Fork of the Edisto River and is made up of a combination of river swamp, bottomland hardwood forest and dry sandhill pine forest. The park offers many activities from birding, hiking, picnicing, camping to meandering down the Edisto in a canoe or kayak.
drivingDirection Aiken State Natural Area is 16 miles east of Aiken off US 78 or off 302 from Columbia. From Hwy 302, turn onto Mackney Scott Road and follow signs for the park. From Hwy 78, turn onto State Park Road and follow park signs.

importantInformation Once the park closes, campers will need to have the gate lock combination to enter park. No one under the age of 18 can register or reserve a campsite. Must have a valid drivers license to register for site. Campers under 18 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Pets must be leashed at all times. Please contact the park to reserve ADA (Disabled Access) Standard and Full Service sites.
